Why Sicilian Vampire is a Class Apart from the Other Movies of this Genre

The best thing about Frank D’Angelo as a director is that he gives chances to the new faces and firmly believes in their acting skills. It is perhaps the main reason that once an actor debuts in the D’Angelo’s arena, they become a star fixed in his ever-expanding constellation. In his hugely successful movie the Sicilian Vampire he has given chance to so many newcomers to display their acting skills and win the heart of the audience.

Along with the popular and veteran actors such as James Caan, Paul Sorvino and Robert Loggia- Frank has paired so many unfamiliar and not so famous faces like, Eric Roberts, Daniel Baldwin and Tony Nardi. With the production budget of $11.3 million, which is also the highest-budgeted film of D'Angelo, the movie celebrates the triumph of youth. Sicilian Vampire is considered as the equal parts of Dusk till Dawn and Goodfellas.

The fascinating story of the Sicilian Vampire-
The plot and sub-plot of the film are well conceptualized and closely integrated with the main story. The entire story of the movie revolves around the celebrated gangster Santino "Sonny" Trafficante Jr played by Frank D’Angelo himself. The mobster was feeling claustrophobic with the rush, activity and gloom of the city life and was desperately searching for peace. This leads him to the family hunting lodge for a little rest and relaxation and create some memories. But in place of getting peace and tranquilty, the life of Santino "Sonny" Trafficante Jr took a different turn that was full of dramatic action, exhilarating suspense and brilliant drama. Frank D’Angelo crafted the different parts in the most fascinating way and the result is, a vampire movie which is a class apart from the other movies of this genre.

It has been truly said by the film critics that D’Angelo made full use of his moviemaking craft in this film. 6K resolution camera that is used in this movie gives a cinematic experience to the audience that is simply marvelous. There is no doubt that Sicilian Vampire is a breath of fresh air in the much-cliched vampire movie series.
